Tortuga III Autonomous Under Water Vehicle
Tortuga III is an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) designed for the AUVSI and ONR's 12th International AUV Competition. AUVs complete underwater tasks without outside intervention or control. They do things like inspect underwater pipelines and survey remote areas for marine life. Tortuga's electronics systems gather visual, acoustic and pressure information about its surroundings. The sensor information is processed by the on board software and commands are sent to Tortuga's thrusters in order to guide the vehicle to its objectives.
